Certified Sedation Experts

Comfortable, Stress-Free Dental Care

We provide various levels of sedation, including nitrous oxide, oral and IV sedation and general anesthesia (deep sedation). Sedation enhances comfort during dental procedures and is used with anesthetics to alleviate pain. Many individuals skip essential dental care because of anxiety, but sedation can help them feel more at ease.

Our doctors are board-certified in IV sedation and highly experienced in all aspects of sedation dentistry.

Is Sedation Right for You?

You can request sedation for any dental procedure we offer. Sedation can help you if you...
  • Are afraid of the dentist
  • Have very sensitive teeth
  • Have complex dental problems
  • Have special needs
  • Hate noise, smells and tastes associated with dental care
  • Have difficulty getting numb
  • Have a bad gag reflex
  • Have had past traumatic dental experiences
  • Don’t have enough time for multiple appointments
  • Are afraid and embarrassed about their teeth

Levels of Sedation

We offer three different levels of sedation, and you can decide on the appropriate level in consultation with your doctor.

Light Sedation
Light sedation options like oral medication and nitrous oxide help you stay calm and relaxed during routine procedures. Oral sedation involves anti-anxiety pills, while nitrous oxide (or “laughing gas”) is inhaled to ease stress. Often, both are combined for greater comfort—ideal for cleanings, fillings, and general dental work.

Moderate Sedation
Moderate sedation, also known as IV sedation, provides a deeper level of relaxation. With this option, you’ll be deeply relaxed, often unaware of the procedure, and may have little to no memory of your appointment. We administer anti-anxiety and pain-relieving medications through an IV to ensure your comfort. This sedation is safe and effective, and patients are carefully monitored. It's an excellent choice for longer procedures or those that may cause more anxiety.

Deep Sedation
Deep sedation, often referred to as "twilight sleep," puts you in a completely relaxed state where you are asleep for the duration of the procedure. An anesthesiologist will closely monitor you, and the procedure is typically performed with the help of an intubation tube to ensure your airway remains clear and stable. This sedation option is reserved for more complex or lengthy dental procedures and for patients with certain medical conditions who require a higher level of care during treatment.

IV Sedation is the most effective and safe option for most dental procedures.

We have the facilities and training to offer safe and effective IV Sedation. IV sedation is the most precise and effective form; our office is fully equipped to provide it. Our doctors are extensively trained in IV sedation and hold board certification from the State of California.
